Paper applications replaced by electronic submission
The new MOS portal has become a fully online system for submitting all applications related to citizenship and residence permits. Paper-based applications are replaced by electronic submission and are no longer processed.
Applications and documents submitted electronically only
All applications and supporting documents must be uploaded electronically via the MOS portal. Each application must be verified using:
- Profil Zaufany (trusted profile)
- i‑ID (electronic ID)
- A valid electronic signature
Submitting a paper version in person at the police office is no longer required.
Digital confirmation issued – no passport stamps
Unlike previous practice, physical stamps will no longer be placed in passports. Instead, the system will provide a digital confirmation with a QR code.
MOS II Portal Update
The new MOS II system will be launched in April 2026, after which all paper applications will be completely replaced by electronic submissions.
Some exceptions
Certain specific cases (e.g., corporate transfers or family reunification scenarios) may still allow paper applications temporarily. However, the general rule is that all procedures will be handled electronically.
