Poland is set to revamp its residence permit system starting next year. From that point onward, all applications for temporary, permanent, and long-term EU residence permits will be submitted entirely online via the MOS (Moduł Obsługi Spraw / Case Handling Module) platform.
The legislation enabling this change has been approved by Parliament and is now awaiting the President’s signature. Authorities have clarified that the system will not be operational on 1 January 2026, and an official launch date will be announced ahead of time.
What Applicants Can Expect
Each applicant will need to create a personal MOS account and log in through login.gov.pl.
The online application form must be completed, electronically signed, and accompanied by digital copies of required documents such as:
- Passport photo
- Passport scan
- Proof of payment
Supporting documents from employers or universities (if needed)
Main Changes
The familiar “red stamp” in passports confirming legal stay will be replaced with a digital confirmation that applicants can download directly from MOS after initial verification.
Later steps will include:
- Fingerprint submission
- Signature sample
- Providing any missing documentation
Once the residence permit is approved, the applicant will receive instructions to collect their physical card.
This modernization is designed to simplify the process, reduce queues, and allow applicants to manage their residence permit entirely online.
