Azerbaijan-Israel Collaboration Expands Across Key Sectors

Azerbaijan and Israel are continuously crafting new projects to bolster their mutually beneficial cooperation, with a portfolio of joint initiatives witnessing steady growth. This development was highlighted by Alex Kaplun, President of the Israel-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IACCI), during the Azerbaijan-Israel Early Education and Parenting Forum, held in Baku on September 28.

Key sectors such as agriculture, information technology, education, and cybersecurity are at the forefront of this burgeoning partnership, according to Kaplun. He noted that numerous private-sector projects are not only in the developmental phase but are already operational. These projects are primarily geared toward advancing agriculture and complemented by initiatives in the education sector. Notably, Israeli technological platforms are actively being integrated into Azerbaijani private schools.

Kaplun underlined the continuous expansion of the joint project portfolio, reflecting Azerbaijan and Israel’s deepening commitment to their partnership. Discussions now encompass a wide range of areas involving governmental institutions and foundations. Projects being deliberated upon span diverse sectors, starting from agriculture and extending to information technology, exemplifying the broadening scope of collaboration between the two nations.

Over the past few years, Azerbaijan and Israel have cultivated robust and amicable intergovernmental relations that have evolved into a strategic partnership. Their relations also extend into the energy sector, demonstrating a strong and multifaceted partnership.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Israel, Mukhtar Mamedov, revealed that negotiations are currently underway for implementing the concepts of “smart cities” and “smart villages” in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Moreover, initiatives related to desalination of seawater are already underway, further solidifying ongoing collaboration.

George Deek, Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, emphasized that dozens of companies are expressing interest in participating in projects within Karabakh. These projects range from the construction of “smart cities” and hospitals to the development of “green” energy and agriculture.

The dynamic relationship between Azerbaijan and Israel continues to thrive, marked by a shared commitment to innovation and progress. As they venture into new territories of collaboration, both countries are poised for even greater achievements on the global stage.
