Georgia Aims for EU Membership by 2030

In a bold declaration, Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia,” affirmed that Georgia will be fully prepared to join the European Union by the year 2030.

“We can give our word that by 2030, Georgia will be ready to join the European Union,” stated the party chairman.

Drawing a comparison between the capabilities of Georgia and Moldova, Kobakhidze emphasized that Georgia has significantly boosted its economic indicators in the past two years. This surge is identified as a pivotal factor for EU integration.

“In just this and the previous year, we have increased the gap with Moldova’s economy by 8 billion dollars. This signifies that we are outpacing Moldova by 8 billion dollars on the path to European integration. Ultimately, when the question of membership arises, the primary criterion will still be the economy,” he added.
