VAT tax on Google in Kazakhstan
Section 25 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan comes into force from January 01, 2022, concerning the procedure for calculating and paying VAT by foreign Internet companies (tax on Google).
In order to control the completeness and timeliness of VAT payment, paying organizations are obliged to provide the authorized body with information on the total amounts of payments and transfers for the calendar year made in favor of and in the context of foreign companies.
The proposed changes will let tax authorities to get an information on the volume of cash flows to foreign Internet companies for the purpose of administering the “tax on Google”.
