Uzbekistan Aims to Attract $50 Billion in Foreign Investments into Agriculture Sector

Uzbekistan is keen on harnessing foreign investments to propel its agricultural sector forward, with a goal set to attract an additional $50 billion in foreign investments into the country’s agricultural industry. This announcement was made by Aziz Voitov, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, during the second Forum of Agribusiness of Turkic States held in Baku.

Minister Voitov emphasized that Uzbekistan views various segments of the agricultural sector as vital and promising, including textile manufacturing, horticulture, animal husbandry, seed cultivation, and more.

Furthermore, he highlighted the Uzbek government’s support for farmers by providing subsidies to encourage the adoption of water-saving technologies and the purchase of seeds.

Regarding the forum, Voitov underscored that this platform offers significant opportunities for forging contracts and stimulating agricultural businesses. It serves as a crucial space for cooperation, enabling Uzbekistan to not only attract foreign investments but also to foster innovation and growth within its agricultural sector.

Uzbekistan, with its strategic location in Central Asia and a diverse range of agricultural resources, is undoubtedly positioned to thrive in the global agricultural landscape. As the country opens its doors to foreign investments and innovation, it will likely see substantial advancements in its agricultural capabilities, which, in turn, will contribute to bolstering the nation’s economy.
