FCHAIN Turkey Office informs:

In a report where the European Union’s think tank emphasizes Turkey’s strong and influential role in the Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Middle East, North Africa, and Africa in the fields of economy, trade, education, culture, and diplomacy, it advised the EU and its member states to take this into account in their policies. The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS), based in Paris, published a report titled “Turkey’s Cards in the World,” drawing attention to Turkey’s rising global position.

The report stated, “Turkey’s footprint has expanded in various regions of the world. This is clearly evident not only economically but also in the successful projection of its soft power, as seen in the country’s educational initiatives and the popularity of Turkish TV series among audiences in Africa, the Middle East, South Caucasus, and the Western Balkans.”

Examining Turkey’s effectiveness in the Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Middle East, North Africa, and Africa in four sections, the report highlighted Turkey’s successful reflection of its soft power, not only in the field of economy but also in educational institutions and the television series sector, while also emphasizing its increased importance at the hard power end of the spectrum with its advancements in the defense industry.

The report indicated that Turkey has rapidly expanded into and established close relationships in these regions over the past 20 years.

The report stated, “The combination of cultural export and technological advancements paints a picture of a country with clear objectives consisting of diplomatic finesse, economic expansion, and strong military capabilities.”

The report evaluated Turkey’s versatile and adaptable approach as the key to its success, stating, “Ankara has emerged as a significant player in these four regions by using a diverse ‘toolbox’ consisting of diplomatic tools and targeted communication.” It also noted that with this strategy, the country has strengthened its image as a strong and reliable partner.
