Tajikistan is witnessing an uptick in real estate rents, as the government introduces changes to establish revised rates for private housing and various facilities. Commencing January 1, 2024, the minimum rent per square meter of real estate in Tajikistan is set to experience a 5.88% increase.
In accordance with the stipulations outlined in the “On the State Budget of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024” law, the monthly minimum rent will be categorized as follows:
- For residential buildings (premises) and their auxiliary buildings – 20% of the calculation indicator.
- For real estate utilized for trading activities, catering enterprises, services, and work – 60% of the calculation indicator.
- For real estate designated for other types of activities – 45% of the calculation indicator.
This adjustment in real estate rental costs is directly linked to the rise in the calculation indicator, transitioning from the current 68 somoni to 72 somoni starting January 1, 2024.
Consequently, the minimum rent per square meter of housing from January 1 should not fall below 14.4 somoni (compared to the current 13.6 somoni). For production facilities, the rate will be 21.6 somoni (up from 20.4 somoni), retail and catering facilities will be 43.2 somoni (increased from 40.8 somoni), and other facilities catering to various types of activities will be 32.4 somoni (up from 30.6 somoni).
