Starting from December 2025, new pay transparency regulations will come into force in Poland, introducing significant changes for employers and job applicants alike.
Under the amended Labour Code (Kodeks pracy), employers will be required to provide candidates with clear and objective information about the salary level or pay range for a given position. This can be done either directly in the job advertisement or before the interview or employment offer is made.
While the law encourages full transparency in job postings, it does not strictly require every employer to include salary ranges in all advertisements. However, failure to inform candidates about remuneration before the hiring process may result in non-compliance with the new provisions.
The reform also introduces additional protections for candidates and employees:
- Employers will no longer be allowed to ask about a candidate’s previous salary.
- Job offers and position titles must be gender-neutral and free from discriminatory language.
- Companies are expected to base remuneration on objective and measurable criteria.
The aim of the new regulation is to reduce the gender pay gap, promote fairness and equality, and increase transparency in Poland’s labor market.
Employers are advised to review and update their recruitment processes and job posting templates ahead of the new rules taking effect in December 2025.
