State support in the form of subsidies, tax benefits, provision of land with ready-made infrastructure, access to favorable credit resources will be provided to investors wishing to build sugar factories in Kazakhstan.
It is noted that the existing capacities of sugar factories are already struggling to cope with the growing volumes of sugar beet harvest.
“The transition to full self-sufficiency in sugar is our strategic goal, it is necessary to improve food security and reduce import dependence. And for this purpose it is necessary to bring beet processing capacity up to 3 million tons. We can achieve results through modernization of existing plants – Merken and Taraz – and construction of new plants. The state needs new sugar factories, and we are ready to provide interested investors with a wide range of preferences: subsidies, tax benefits, land with ready infrastructure, access to favorable credit resources» – Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin said.
