Kazakhstan second in bitcoin mining rankings in the world
The USA accounts for the largest share of mining in the world – about 35.4% as of late August. According to the studies of specialists from the University of Cambridge Kazakhstan takes the second place (18%) and Russia the third one (11%).
In April 2021 the US share was 16.8% and more than doubled within three months.
In May 2019 75% of bitcoins were mined in China, in July 2021 the share decreased to 44%, and by August 2021 – to zero. In May 2021 mining was banned in the country, and in September the Chinese Central Bank invalidated all operations with crypto-currency.
It is to be recalled that in April 2021 Kazakhstan became the third largest Bitcoin mining in the world, since September its share has increased almost six times, i.e. from 1.4% to 8.2%.
The researchers report the largest Chinese miners to have moved to North America and Central Asia after the bans.
