Investment Office's “Türkiye Century Investment Receptions” in Europe Concludes with Vienna Event

Vienna witnessed the successful conclusion of the initial round of the “Türkiye Century Investment Receptions” organized by the Investment Office as part of its commemorative roadshow to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. Held at the Turkish Embassy in Vienna, this event provided an up-to-date overview of Türkiye’s thriving investment environment and lucrative opportunities for the international business community. The reception saw distinguished speakers, including Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun and Investment Office President A. Burak Dağlıoğlu, who highlighted the importance of bilateral ties and the promising prospects for investors.

In his speech, Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun emphasized the positive economic and commercial relations between Türkiye and Austria, which have consistently responded to global dynamics. He emphasized the complementary economic structures of the two countries, presenting significant prospects for investors seeking mutually beneficial partnerships. Türkiye’s prominent position in the global investment league, driven by the visionary Türkiye Century vision set forth by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, further solidifies its appeal as a prime investment destination. The ambassador expressed optimism that the reception, cohosted by the Turkish Embassy and the Investment Office, will foster increased interest in Türkiye among Austrian investors and businesses.

Investment Office President A. Burak Dağlıoğlu added to the discourse by highlighting the ever-growing economic relations between Austria and Türkiye, which play a pivotal role in shaping both countries’ investment landscapes. He revealed that the reception was part of a series of “Türkiye Century Investment Receptions” hosted by the Embassy in Vienna, marking the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye. Dağlıoğlu commended Türkiye’s remarkable success in various domains, transforming it into a regional hub for multinational corporations. Notably, Austrian foreign direct investment inflows in Türkiye have totaled USD 11 billion since 2003, with bilateral trade volume reaching around USD 4 billion. The Investment Office is committed to expanding cooperation with Austria and attracting more Austrian investors to Türkiye, aiming to foster high-value investments that contribute to the nation’s sustainability and export targets.

AVL Executive Vice President Gustav Tuschen shared his company’s success story in Türkiye during the event. In 2008, AVL became the first international engineering company in the automotive sector to establish a subsidiary in Türkiye, named AVL Research & Engineering. Since then, AVL Türkiye has seen sustained growth and currently employs approximately 400 engineers working on projects that are shaping the future of the global automotive industry. Tuschen expressed gratitude for the valuable and effective support provided by the Investment Office, which has been instrumental in AVL’s achievements in Türkiye.

Austria Post Chairman and CEO Dr. George Pölzl also lauded the Investment Office and the Republic of Türkiye for their continuous support and advice, which played a pivotal role in Austria Post’s investment success in the country. Dr. Pölzl expressed satisfaction with their investment in Türkiye and announced the extension of their engagement by establishing an R&D Center for the parcel industry, serving networks in Central Eastern Europe. Leveraging their presence in Türkiye, Austria Post has also expanded its activities to other Turkic countries, such as Azerbaijan, and is excited to be a part of Türkiye’s bright and prosperous future.

The Investment Office’s “Türkiye Century Investment Receptions” series has served as a remarkable platform to showcase Türkiye’s potential to the international business community and forge stronger investment ties. The event in Vienna has set a positive tone for future collaboration between Türkiye and Austria, promising mutually beneficial opportunities for investors and businesses alike as Türkiye enters a new century of growth and development.
