HAVE YOU PLANNED YOUR DAY?

Goal setting is not only planning what you are going to do and achieve, but it is managing time effectively. Goals can be short-term or long-term. They can be personal, family or career. But while starting setting and doing them you should know some general clues. Does goal setting waste or save your time?  It rather saves than wastes it, because when you set the goal you know what you will do, how you will start and end your work beforehand and there is no need planning and starting your work simultaneously.

Otherwise, you will waste a lot time thinking what your priority is for today. So, setting goals helps you to organize your time and your resources and opportunity. Though it is difficult to foresee the end but a person starting his/her work or task should try to do it.

There are a few important steps while setting goals:

  • pick up courage, collect your thoughts, mobilize your energy and then start setting your goals;
  • decide what you need to do and what you want to achieve;
  • then do not hesitate and start writing down the steps you are going to take when you start planning your goals;
  • write down the goals that motivate you and try to encourage yourself as self-motivation is very important.
  • find out where you have to concentrate your efforts to avoid distractions;
  • break your steps into small targets while setting the goal and
  • self-confidence is very important, as you should believe in yourself before making people believe in you;
  • divide the goals or the steps while setting them into small and big, as well as into easy and difficult. Start doing smaller goals or steps you are sure to have enough ability, performance, knowledge and strength to realize them and gain achievement.
  • never start with difficult and big goals first, as you may be unsuccessful while doing them and it will demotivate you;
  • set realistic goals that you are able to realise, otherwise you will have a lot of barriers preventing you to realize them and as a result you fail realising unrealistic goals not understanding your failure;
  • if you achieved the goal or task too easily make the next one harder; f you achieved it with difficulty make the next goal or task a bit easier;
  • setting too easy goals or too easy task will not improve your knowledge, ability and performance; if they are too difficult it will they will demotivate you;
  • while achieving your goals or completing your task do not hesitate and reward yourself, as it will encourage you to realize next goals and tasks and build self-confidence which are very important.

These are some important tips of setting goals. Some people do not like planning, as they think that it is not necessary to do it. But even planning your next day is very important, as when you get up you already know what you will start your day with and it will prevent you to lose time thinking what to do and what to start with. Both in the office and at home as a rule you do not finish you were planning to do. So, better to set goals or make plans beforehand and start doing it as soon as the day starts and do not waste time for thinking what to start with.

But do not forget. As they say” We plan, God laughs”. Sometimes we plan but the things do not go as we hoped or expected. But do not be pessimistic and plan everything and just say: “God, help me to realize my plan, goal, target or task”.

So, have you planned your day or set the goal? Good luck to you all in whatever you have planned or not.
