What is climate change? It is the rise of the average temperature in the world caused by the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere causing climate changes, i.e., hurricanes, floods, drought, and intensive rainfall happening too frequently.
The main cause of global warming is the greenhouse effect, which contributes to maintaining the average temperature of the planet. Furthermore, the high concentration of greenhouse gases causes the Earth to retain more heat, resulting in global warming. So, the main contributor to the increase of greenhouse gases is human being who destroys the ecosystem and causes deforestation.
Global warming is not only the rise of temperature levels, it has impacts, such as the melting of polar ice caps, rising sea levels, changes in ecosystems acidity of oceans, extreme meteorological events, and so on. Absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere, oceans store it, and it leads to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the oceans, changing their composition and they become more acidic destroying marine flora and fauna. CO2 and other air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation. Absorbing the sunlight the Earth returns it as an invisible form of energy. As a rule, this radiation escapes into space, but these pollutants, which may be stored in the atmosphere for a long time, cause the planet to get hotter by retaining the heat.
Climate change has a negative impact on food safety, i.e., agriculture and fishing, leading to some populations’ forced migration to survive as well. It leads to the death of more than 250.000 people every year in the world. 100 million people are expected to be forced into poverty as a result of global warming.
There is harmony in the world. Some rain falls on the ground, while the required amount evaporates into the sky. Then the water kept in the clouds returns to the world as rain. Thus, while polluting the atmosphere, some people do not think about the results: we reap what we sow. We destroy forests by cutting them, ruin and pollute the environment through wars and so-called industrial revolutions and development without thinking about the consequences. Everything comes back to us, like a boomerang.
The temperature between 1880 and 1980 rose on average by 0.07 degrees C every 10 years. But since 1981, the increase has more than doubled, having risen by 0.18 degrees C for the last 40 years annually. According to climate scientists, we must limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2040 to avoid extreme droughts, floods, tropical storms, and other disasters. Scientists demand to reduce global carbon emissions by 40 % by 2030.
The consequences of global warming are felt by human beings’ health and life as well. Allergies, infectious disease outbreaks, asthma, and other sicknesses have become common due to increased levels of air pollution, leading to the spread of pathogens and mosquitoes.
Climate change can be prevented by cutting emissions and using alternatives to fossil fuels globally. And we must fight against global warming everywhere: at home, in offices, in the streets, and so on. While buying cars or devices, choose the one with the lowest emissions.
Financial Chain Corporation pays much attention to the problem of global warming, considering it to be more than just hot weather. It is the existence of our planet and the life of a future generation. We try to print the documents only when we have no alternative choice. The company uses envelopes made from recycled paper. The staff gathers all paper and plastic waste and sends it for recycling. The company organizes volunteer clean-up days to collect the rubbish on the beach.
Also, The company has created a new project “Best Friends” to take care of homeless animals. Detailed information about this project will be given in further publications.
