From Minister Bayraktar, statement on natural gas from Nakhchivan

At the press conference on the “Turkey-Azerbaijan Cooperation Agreement in the Natural Gas Field” Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that relations with Azerbaijan have entered a second phase and shared the following information:

Relations with Azerbaijan have entered a second phase. Relations reached a strategic partnership with the Shusha Declaration signed on June 15, 2021. Especially in the field of energy, collaborations have been developed. Both countries continue their investments decisively. Our relations are entering a new dimension in natural gas. By 2030, we anticipate Azerbaijan’s natural gas reaching Turkey in addition.

With this agreement, we reach an agreement on delivering Turkmenistan’s natural gas to Turkey via Azerbaijan and Georgia.

This winter, Nakhchivan’s natural gas will be delivered through Turkey. We will address this pipeline as soon as possible. We will expand the transfer of natural gas to Europe through Turkey. We will continue to consolidate our cooperation with these agreements.
