Establishment of the Official Working Group for the Draft Law on Social Entrepreneurship in Tajikistan

The recent establishment of an official Working Group in Tajikistan signifies a crucial step towards the development of the draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Social Entrepreneurship.” the head of the working group, Murtazozoda  Jamshed Saidali, emphasized the global significance of social entrepreneurship and highlighted its potential in addressing social issues within the country. The speech shed light on the necessity of legislative support for social entrepreneurship, including the facilitation of state social orders and public-private partnerships.

According to the director of the NGO “Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law,” the promotion of entrepreneurship, family businesses, and self-employment holds paramount importance in Tajikistan. The cultivation of social entrepreneurship is viewed as a viable solution to unemployment and various social challenges. This innovative approach presents a fusion of commercial viability and societal welfare, aiming to achieve sustainable solutions rather than solely financial gain.

The event received support from the Eurasia Foundation through the “Social Innovations in Central Asia” program, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The initiative falls under the project “Development of the Draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan ‘On Social Entrepreneurship,'” led by the NGO “Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law.” This collaborative effort is expected to bring diverse perspectives to the forefront and pave the way for impactful social changes in Tajikistan.
