Employers in the Kyrgyz Republic will pay wages only in non-cash form

The Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reminds that from October 1, 2024, all employers – legal entities are required to pay wages only in non-cash form.

This requirement was introduced by the Law of July 23, 2024 into the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Exceptions are possible in the event of force majeure, a state of emergency or an emergency situation.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers has the right to authorize the payment of wages in cash for certain types of activities or in certain regions of the country.

In addition, employers are required to maintain a register of employees through the “Taxpayer’s Account” on the website cabinet.salyk.kg and update the data in a timely manner.

This requirement does not apply to organizations financed from the state budget.

For violation by a tax agent of the requirements for maintaining a register of employees, the following fines are provided:

  • 3 thousand soms for individuals;
  • 6.5 thousand soms for legal entities.
