“Caspian Energy Investment Forum Prague 2023” organized by the Caspian Energy Club, officially supported by Embassy of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, Embassy of Turkey in Prague, The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, KOBIA (The Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan), AZPROMO (the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan), sponsored by Financial Chain Corporation (a platinum sponsor), the ENERGAZER (a bronze sponsor), and with participants from more than 80 companies, was held on March 22 at Hilton Prague.
The purpose of the forum was to let the participants from Turkic countries and Czechia study possibilities for companies and organizations intending to invest and run businesses in Czechia, as well as evaluate investment opportunities for companies from Czechia in Azerbaijan, overview the business climate and advantages based on the surveys of the companies from the EU, provide the possibility of meeting and communicating with the representatives of state bodies and potential partners, etc.
Welcome speeches were made by Mr. Telman Aliyev, Chairman and Group CEO of the Caspian Energy Club, Mr. Kamran Mammadzada, Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Berat Demirçi, Embassy of the Republic of Turkey to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Sevil Yahyayeva, Advisor to the Executive Director of AZPROMO, the Azerbaijan Republic, and Mr. Zaur Gadirov, Chairman of the Caspian Energy Czechia.
The event consisted of three sessions, the topic of the first one being “Development Model of the Czech Republic”. The moderator of the first session was Mr. Teymur Akhundov, Country Manager of Financial Chain Corporation in the Czech Republic, and the speakers were Mr. Jan Fischer, Former Prime-Minister, Czech economist, and politician, and Mr. Petr Budinsky, Associate Professor and Vice-Rector for Strategy and Foreign Affairs of the University of Finance and Administration (VŠFS), the Czech Republic.
Cooperation between European Countries and the Business Society of Turkic Countries” was the topic of the second session. The moderator of the second session was Mr. Zaur Gadirov, Chairman of the Caspian Energy Czechia, the speakers were Mr. Vusal Rajabli, Advisor of the Minister of Energy of the Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. Suleyman Majidli, Director of ENERGAZER LLC, the Azerbaijan Republic, and Mr. Václav Lídl, Head of the East Europe, West Balkans, and Mrs. Martina Parikova, Central Asia Division at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
The topic of the third session was “Positive Impact of economic reforms in the Region and New Investment Opportunities”. Mr. Kamil Blazek, Chairman of the Association for Foreign Investment, the Czech Republic, was the moderator of the third session. Mr. Fransesco Aiesi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board – Founder at Good Life Sicav a.s., the Czech Republic, Mr. Zaur Gardashov, Advisor to the Chairman of KOBIA, the Azerbaijan Republic, and made speeches in the third session.
The forum took place in a business-friendly atmosphere, giving new business opportunities to Czech companies in the Turkic countries and to companies from the Turkic countries in the Czech Republic.
