Visa Continues Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan

In an inspiring move towards advancing female entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan, Visa is set to embark on pivotal initiatives, as announced by Christina Dorosh, Vice President and Regional Manager of Visa in Central Asia and Azerbaijan. FCHAIN Corporation, a global consulting company with a prominent presence, including 14 branches worldwide and in Kazakhstan, remains dedicated to tracking and sharing noteworthy developments in finance and legal sectors.

Highlighting Visa’s commitment to supporting women in business, Christina Dorosh emphasized the global initiative, “She’s Next, Empowered by Visa.” Launched in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in 2019, this initiative garnered significant interest, with over 2,500 women participating in educational webinars during the first wave.

“Building on the success of the initial phase, where we witnessed remarkable engagement from Central Asian entrepreneurs, we launched the second wave of the She’s Next, Empowered by Visa initiative in 2022 under the theme ‘Successful Business is Balance!'” mentioned Christina Dorosh.

During the second wave, more than 6,000 entrepreneurs from Central Asia actively participated. They underwent an educational journey with lectures from top experts, covering effective business management, time management, and achieving a work-life balance. The initiative concluded with 15 entrepreneurs reaching the finals, and three winners securing grants to advance their businesses.

A noteworthy accomplishment in 2022 was the creation and issuance of the world’s first co-branded She’s Next, Empowered by Visa card in collaboration with HalykBank, a partner in the second wave of the initiative. According to Dorosh, the card boasts a unique design featuring the She’s Next, Empowered by Visa logo and offers exclusive privileges available only to participants of the second wave.

This year, aligning with the goal of fostering digitalization, enhancing entrepreneurs’ digital potential, and supporting women’s entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan, Visa signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the “National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan ‘ASMAR'”. Through this collaboration, significant projects encompassing digital transformation acceleration and enhancement of digital and financial literacy are on the horizon.
