A new approach to business regulation has been implemented since 2022 in Kazakhstan by conducting large-scale audit arrangements to identify exceeding requirements for businesses. Taking into consideration the results of the audits, 7 thousand requirements are to be canceled in the country. Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, told about it at an expanded government meeting, chaired by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kazakhstan Republic, on December 12, 2022.
“A new stage of reformation of the state control system has begun by switching from inspections to the prevention of violations through the automation of the risk management systems,” stated the Prime Minister. The mentioned work must be completed before the moratorium on inspections of small and medium-sized businesses ends. Mr. Smailov mentioned that the measures taken by the government would lead to an increase in the number of people employed in SMBs (small and medium-sized businesses) to 4.7 million people.
Several other measures are to be taken to support SMBs by the Kazakhstan government.
