Simplification of the Migration Rules for IT Specialists from CIS in Kyrgyzstan

A new regulation on assigning the status of “Digital Nomads” to IT specialists from CIS countries, i.e., from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Russia has been adopted in Kyrgyzstan. Under the new regulations, IT specialists are allowed to stay in the country without obtaining a work permit, as reported the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

“The demand for so-called digital nomads has been increasing recently all over the world, as these specialists need only a computer and high-speed internet for their work, and they can even work for a few companies at the same time,” said Daniyar Amangeldiyev, Head of the Department.

The purpose of the pilot projects is to provide IT specialists with comfortable conditions for migration and work. According to Musa Kataganov, Head of Business Environment Department of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy natural and geopolitical factors could lead Kyrgyzstan to become attractive for digital nomads.
