FEZ allowed to engage in additional activities in Kazakhstan.
Today, there are 13 SEZs in Kazakhstan. Since 2002, 307 projects have been launched at them, which have provided more than 21 thousand permanent jobs, the enterprises have launched the production of over 30 new types of products.
The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2021 expanded the list of activities for a number of special economic zones of the republic.
Thus, last year the types of activities of the special zone “Seaport Aktau” were expanded. Now this FEZ will be able to engage in such projects as:
- electricity generation by thermal power plants;
- transmission and distribution of electricity;
- construction of residential and non-residential buildings;
- provision of services by hotels and similar accommodations;
- rental and management of own or leased real estate;
- Activities for the organization of recreation and entertainment.
FEZ “Saryarka” for the production of metal products and construction materials:
- collect, process and dispose of waste;
- Utilization (recovery) of materials in respect of decommissioned vehicles, special equipment and agricultural machines, refrigerators and refrigeration equipment.
The supplemented list of activities of the FEZ “Qyzyljar” includes the production of:
- • wood pulp and cellulose;
- • paper and cardboard; corrugated board;
- • paper and cardboard containers;
- • paper products for household and sanitary purposes;
- • pharmaceutical products and preparations;
- • medicines for veterinary medicine.
The list of priority activities has been expanded for SEZ “TURKISTAN”. Added:
- • complex service of objects;
- • landscaping activities;
- • repair of furniture and interior items;
- • provision of food and beverage services;
- • repair of electronic and optical equipment;
- • other activities in the field of information technologies and systems not included in other groups.
In addition, the activities of the FEZ “NINT”, “Seaport Aktau”, “Saryarka”, “Chemical Park Taraz” and “Pavlodar” are supplemented with the item “construction and commissioning of a multidisciplinary hospital”.
