Accountant in Hungary - FCHAIN

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with solid knowledge of the Hungarian accounting and taxation system. The ideal candidate is capable of handling monthly and annual reporting requirements, managing payroll processes, and preparing employment-related documentation. This role involves close cooperation with clients and internal teams and requires a high level of responsibility and accuracy.

Your role

• Maintain accounting records in compliance with Hungarian accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Prepare and submit monthly and annual financial and tax reports (including VAT/ÁFA returns, VIES declarations, corporate tax filings, and annual financial statements).
• Manage payroll processing, including preparation of monthly payrolls, statutory declarations, and related documents.
• Draft and update employment contracts, annexes, and other HR documentation.
• Communicate with the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV), social security institutions, and other state bodies.
• Support clients with day-to-day accounting and administrative inquiries.
• Provide additional support within the company as required.

What are we looking for

• Proven experience as an accountant in Hungary.
• Strong knowledge of Hungarian accounting, tax (VAT, CIT), and social security regulations.
• Experience with payroll processing and HR documentation.
• Familiarity with accounting software used in Hungary is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and professional attitude.
• Fluency in Hungarian (native/fluent) and English (professional level).
