Financial Chain Corporation (FCHAIN) participated in the official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship. The company’s Deputy General Manager, Valid Huseynov attended the event as an honorary guest upon special invitation. The ceremony was also attended by the leadership of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, government officials, chess players, and representatives of partner organizations.
The President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Mahir Mammadov, highlighted the importance of the championship in developing chess in the country, increasing its popularity, and identifying young talents. The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, also noted the rising standards of the Azerbaijani championships and the continuous development of chess in the country.
A total of 46 chess players are competing in the championship, including 30 men and 16 women. The tournament is being held from February 6 to 22, with the first matches starting on February 8. A draw ceremony took place after the participants were introduced.
