30 August - Victory Day in Türkiye

Victory Day, is a national holiday celebrated in Türkiye on August 30th each year.

That day holds great importance in Turkish history as it signifies the triumph of the Turkish nation over foreign invaders and the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye.

Victory Day has been celebrated as an official holiday since 1926, and was first celebrated on 30 August 1923.

“Victory is for those who can say “Victory is mine”. Success is for those who can begin saying “I will succeed” and say “I have succeeded” in the end” – Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, First President and Founder of the Republic of Türkiye.
