Azerbaijan celebrates the Day of Restoration of Independence on October 18, commemorating the historic adoption of the Constitutional Act “On State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan” in 1991.
This act recognized Azerbaijan as the successor of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic established in 1918.
In 2021, a new law officially designated October 18 as the Day of Restoration of Independence, highlighting its lasting importance.
Today, Azerbaijanis honor their sovereignty, national symbols, and the enduring spirit of resilience.
