Significant changes for business in 2021, Kazakhstan - FCHAIN

In this article, we would like to shed light on significant changes in the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which came into force on January 1, 2021.

A new special tax regime came into force on January 1, 2021 for small and medium-sized businesses affected by the pandemic. The regime is proposed to introduce a VOLUNTARY special tax regime in the form of paying a retail tax of 3%, which will be valid until January 1, 2023. Other benefits of the regime are exemption from VAT and deregistration for VAT (clause 4 of article 82, clause 1 of article 85 of the Tax Code), as well as exemption from social tax (subparagraph 1) of clause 2 of art. 482 Tax Code). Notification of the transition to a special tax regime can be submitted either on purpose to the tax authority at the location or in electronic format through the e-government web portal.

Small but significant changes have been made to the Tax Code in terms of income tax deductions, the new special tax regime and the type of change in the deadline for paying taxes, as well as the tax reporting form and lists of statistical forms for 2021 were adopted and approved.

A list of 113 companies has been published that are subject to mandatory tax audits in the first half of this year. All companies listed for follow-up have high risk status. Each entrepreneur can check the risk status of his company in the taxpayer’s office.

The FChain Kazakhstan team wishes you success in 2021 and is always ready to provide high quality services to support your business.
